Carl S. Nadwodny is the Chief Investment Officer for Convergent Financial Strategies, LLC. Carl has over 20 years of financial services industry experience, managing investments for individuals, corporate executives, entrepreneurs as well as endowments and corporations.
Prior to joining Convergent Financial Strategies, Carl was Chief Investment Officer for First Niagara Bank’s Private Client Services group, where he developed financial solutions for clients with significant net worth. He developed his fixed income and capital markets expertise as Financial Market Economist with SB Financial Services Corp, an investment subsidiary of a Long Island, NY-based commercial bank. Carl obtained his due diligence, trading and portfolio management experience at Executive Financial Services, a registered investment advisor based in suburban Philadelphia, PA. His formative years were spent in Advanta Corporation’s treasury group where he focused on risk management and hedging strategies using derivative instruments.
A student of the market and investor psychology, Carl implemented an investment discipline at First Niagara that combined behavioral finance and asset-liability management. This approach enabled clients to invest according to their individual needs, and not view success in terms of broad market indexes. Carl uses this strategy at CFS–portfolios are tailored specifically for each client. Each portfolio incorporates objective decision making, which seeks to avoid the temptation to invest in the latest fad investment and focus instead on what is truly important to each client.
Carl has a Master’s in Business Administration degree (Finance) from Drexel University, a Bachelor of Science degree (Finance with Economics concentration) from Villanova University. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the premier global association for investment management professionals, the Financial Planning Association®, and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. Carl holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. He is active in local community organizations and enjoys traveling, biking and spending time with his family. Carl and his wife reside in suburban Philadelphia with their two children.
